Information You Provide
1. Email Address.
Visitors to our site may elect to join our email club in order to receive news, special announcements,
discount ticket offers, and other information from The Cleveland Orchestra via email. Those who join our
email list are asked to select from a limited number of preferences and demographic responses in order
to help us provide our email club members with the kinds of information they would like to receive.
Every email sent by The Cleveland Orchestra allows the recipient to update their preferences or be
removed from the list.
Email addresses gathered in this manner will not be disclosed to any other party unless the email
club member indicates he/she would like to receive information from other arts organizations The
Orchestra works with. (Examples include the Cleveland Playhouse, Cleveland Museum of Art, and
Playhouse Square.)
An email address is also requested as part of the online order form for ticket and merchandise
purchases. From time to time, these emails will be downloaded from our web server and added to our
email database. At that time, an initial email communication will be sent, and the address owner
may choose to join the email club and receive additional emails or be removed from the list.
2. Demographic and Financial Information
When ordering tickets or merchandise online from The Cleveland Orchestra website, we will require
you to fill out an online order form which may include information such as name, billing address,
shipping address, day and evening phone numbers, email address, credit card number, and expiration
date. This information is used to process your transaction. If the ticket office or store staff
has a problem processing your order, this information may also be used to contact you.
All demographic information (name, mailing address, email address, etc.) relating to ticket
purchases is entered and stored in the box office ticketing system. Financial information
(credit card number and expiration) is used for processing the transaction only, and is not
stored in the system. Merchandise sales transactions are processed through the Point of Sale
terminals in The Cleveland Orchestra Store. This system is used only for processing sales
transactions and inventory management, and does not store credit card information.
From time to time, The Cleveland Orchestra will send an email communication to the email
addresses contained in the box office ticketing system, offering the addressee the opportunity to
join the email club and continue to receive email news and offers. Anyone who does not wish to
receive these email communications may choose to opt-out at anytime. Simply click the opt-out
link contained in each email or call the Severance Hall Ticket Office at (216) 231-1111.
3. Contests
From time to time, The Cleveland Orchestra may offer online contests for tickets or other similar
prizes in cooperation with another arts organization, radio station, newspaper, or website. When this
occurs, the information gathered online is shared by The Cleveland Orchestra and the contest partner
organization.
Use of Information
All information gathered online for ticket purchases is entered into the box office ticketing
system, which is the sole repository of data used by The Cleveland Orchestra to generate postal
mailing lists that provide our patrons with information about our products and services and notices
of upcoming events. If you do not wish to receive these mailings, please email your request to
info@clevelandorchestra.com or call the Severance
Hall Ticket Office at (216) 231-1111.
Once or twice a year, we may exchange mailing lists with other Cleveland-area arts organizations
so they may provide our patrons with local arts-related information. If you do not want us to share
your mailing address with other Cleveland-area arts organizations, please let us know via the email
address or phone number above.
